Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Okusaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kong Man Choi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Okusaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kong Man Choi!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kong Man Choi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Choi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Choi.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Okusaka. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Choi cracks Okusaka with a right hand to the side of the head.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Choi.
Choi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Choi.
Okusaka moves out of range of the body kick.
Choi tries to land a front kick but Okusaka steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Choi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okusaka closes the distance and clinches up with Choi, looking for a takedown. Okusaka pushes Choi against the cage but Choi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Choi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Okusaka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Choi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Okusaka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Okusaka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Okusaka works to advance to full mount. Choi defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kong Man Choi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Choi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Okusaka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Choi is staying active underneath Okusaka, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Choi wants to get back to his feet.
Choi is not content to let Okusaka control the position.
Okusaka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Choi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Choi can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Okusaka decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Choi's guard.
Choi wants to stand up but Okusaka is controlling him.
Richard Okusaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kong Man Choi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Okusaka throws and elbow that misses. Choi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Okusaka's guard. Nice move by Choi!
