Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Little Mac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Wood!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mac closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wood is staying active underneath Mac, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mac definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wood is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mac thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wood's head.

Mac seems to be working for a kimura but Wood defends the submission attempt.
Mac prevents Wood from improving his position.
Mac moves into full mount! Wood won't be happy about that!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wood wants to control but Mac is having none of it.

Mac looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Mac is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wood has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wood!

Mac is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wood is doing well to control the position and prevent Mac from advancing to side control.
Mac takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Wood manages to get to full guard.

Wood wants to hit a switch here but Mac passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Wood there!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mac throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mac working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Wood turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Mac off and cradles Wood's limp body as Mac celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Little Mac!
