The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Johns closes the distance and lands a one-two.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johns.
Johns tries to clinch
and Parker counters with a stiff right hand.
Parker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Parker clinches up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Johns takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Johns gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Johns jumps guard but Parker stands there with Johns around his waist. Johns gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Parker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Parker throws a right hand that Johns ducks under and follows up with a left that Johns also avoids with ease.

Parker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johns, pushing him back against the cage.
Johns is looking to take this one to the mat.
Johns is working for takedown but Parker is calmly controlling the position for now.

Parker breaks the clinch.

Parker has managed to clinch.
Parker slowing the pace effectively.
Johns is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Parker. Those never looked like landing.

Parker lands a left and a right that send Johns crashing to the mat, dazed. Parker thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Wendell Johns has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Johns colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Parker as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Johns is left battered and dazed whilst Parker and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robert Parker!
