Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcin Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalski clinches with his opponent.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Silva just misses with a elbow thrown towards Kowalski's brow.
Kowalski blocks the elbow strike.
Silva prevents the takedown attempt.
Silva throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Kowalski takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Marcin Kowalski has been cut.

Kowalski is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Kowalski manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kowalski stays in close to Silva's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kowalski drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Kowalski off! Kowalski jumps back into Silva's guard.
Kowalski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kowalski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kowalski passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kowalski is looking for a takedown.
Silva lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
We've been informed that Kowalski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Kowalski has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Silva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Damon Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcin Kowalski.

Silva is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Silva pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Silva lands a damaging elbow.
Silva lands an elbow that stopped Kowalski in his tracks for a moment.

That has opened up Marcin Kowalski's cut even more.

Kowalski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Silva clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kowalski.

Silva tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Kowalski has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Silva is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Marcin Kowalski decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
