The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babawto shoots in for a takedown but Hardy shows good takedown defense.
Hardy leaves Babawto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Babawto walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Babawto misses with a takedown
and Hardy counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renato Babawto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fighters circling - Babawto throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hardy looks to land a combination but Babawto avoids it well.
Babawto takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hardy stands up over Babawto, holding on to his feet. Hardy throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Babawto is out cold! Hardy lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

A relieved looking Chad Hardy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
