PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Kampamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathek Kiraly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathek Kiraly looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kamil Kampamba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mathek Kiraly!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kiraly changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kampamba looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The strikes coming from Kiraly are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kiraly working the ground and pound but Kampamba is defending the strikes.
Kiraly in side control, throwing shots but Kampamba defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kiraly creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kampamba sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Kiraly working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kiraly wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kampamba, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kiraly tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kampamba's legs.

Kampamba taking punishment in the form of punches.
Kampamba parries the strikes from Kiraly easily there. Kiraly is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kampamba to escape.
Kiraly misses with the ground and pound.
Kiraly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kiraly tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Kiraly looks winded!
Kampamba regains half guard, as Kiraly was trying to land strikes.
Kiraly thows a huge punch but Kampamba dodges it nicely.
Kampamba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kiraly on the ground.

Kiraly is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kiraly seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kampamba avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kiraly.
Kiraly throwing shots but Kampamba is blocking nicely.

Kiraly is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kiraly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Kiraly is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kiraly slips a nice elbow through Kampamba's hands, connecting with Kampamba's forehead.
Kampamba has hold of Kiraly's hands but Kiraly slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kiraly landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kampamba is trying to get back to full guard.
Nice strikes from Kiraly there.
Kiraly not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kiraly seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kampamba keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Kiraly is nestled in close to Kampamba, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Kiraly winds up and cracks Kampamba with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kampamba has hold of Kiraly's hands but Kiraly slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kiraly is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kiraly is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kiraly is working for a kimura but Kampamba is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mathek Kiraly dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Kiraly closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kampamba did well to prevent Kiraly getting side control.

Kiraly looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kiraly scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Kiraly is breathing heavily.
Kiraly throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kiraly is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kampamba defends it well.
Kiraly working over Kampamba with some ground and pound. Kampamba looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kiraly sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kampamba defending well though.

Kiraly in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kampamba tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kiraly!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mathek Kiraly!
Mathek Kiraly seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Kamil Kampamba spoke after the fight, saying 'F*CK EVERYTHING I'M The Be(a)st'.
