Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maicon Pereira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Bellum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bellum has chosen Osmani Garcia - El Taxi as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maicon Pereira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Bellum!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pereira shoots in for a takedown but Bellum shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bellum looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Pereira shoots for a takedown but Bellum saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pereira looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bellum!
Pereira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bellum keeps working.
Bellum sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Pereira trying to pass the guard but Bellum defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bellum has his hands clasped together around Pereira's back. He's all about the action.
Pereira frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pereira unloads with some shots from mount but Bellum bucks and avoids them well.
Bellum manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Pereira not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Bellum keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Bellum is not content to let Pereira control the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bellum is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pereira's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pereira's back!
Bellum has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Pereira's body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pereira breaks Bellum's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Pereira gets a double leg takedown into Bellum's guard.
Pereira looking to pass the guard.
Pereira wants to control from the top but Bellum keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pereira postures up in Bellum's guard and throws a big left but Bellum blocks it.
Pereira throws a big elbow that misses.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bellum can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bellum avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bellum manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pereira manages to get himself to full guard.
Pereira wants to stand and escape but Bellum is having none of it.
Pereira pulls Bellum in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pereira takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bellum lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pereira at a distance.
Bellum throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pereira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bellum defends it nicely.
It seemed like Bellum was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maicon Pereira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pereira has his takedown stuffed
and Bellum counters with a stiff right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chris Bellum will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bellum darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Bellum displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pereira.
Pereira misses with a takedown
and Bellum counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pereira with a poor takedown
and Bellum scores with a counter punch that sends Pereira to the canvas! Bellum smells blood - he's punishing Pereira with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Pereira has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Bellum!
