Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tomasz Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Sosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomasz Kowalski had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomasz Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sammy Sosa!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski slaps away a takedown attempt from Sosa, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kowalski closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sosa's guard.
Sosa keeping moving, preventing Kowalski from controlling successfully.
Kowalski is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sosa is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kowalski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kowalski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sosa to the mat! Sosa manages to get full guard.

Kowalski is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kowalski gets control of Sosa's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kowalski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Kowalski is pulling down on Sosa's head. It's preventing any offense from Sosa, at least for the moment.

Kowalski is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sosa presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Sosa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kowalski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kowalski has escaped and now he's on top!
Kowalski is looking to stand up but Sosa won't let him.

Sosa looking for subs off his back but Kowalski has passed one foot through into half guard.

Kowalski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sosa is just riding it out for now. Kowalski eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kowalski is keen to just control but Sosa is a slippery customer.

Well Kowalski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
