The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalski shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kowalski showed some decent athleticism there.
Kowalski is thwarting Bridges's attempts to control the position.

Kowalski is looking to advance position but Bridges won't allow it.
Kowalski takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bridges wants to get back to full guard but Kowalski has mounted him!

Kowalski breaks from Bridges's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Bridges is trying to escape the mount.
Kowalski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bridges tries to lock up and control but Kowalski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bridges really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bridges is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kowalski lands a big elbow.
Bridges looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Kowalski throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Bridges!

Bridges is rocked!

Kowalski is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bridges has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Bridges covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Oh Bridges is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
