Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Greaves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Boddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jimmy Greaves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Boddy!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greaves has a takedown stuffed.
Greaves looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Greaves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Boddy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Greaves throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Boddy works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Greaves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are battling for position here. Boddy manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Boddy is pulling down on Greaves's head. It's preventing any offense from Greaves, at least for the moment.
Boddy is trying to keep Greaves in close.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boddy pulls Greaves in close to prevent any damage.

Boddy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Greaves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Greaves content to stall in guard here.

Greaves wants to get up but he can't break Boddy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Boddy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Greaves wants to control from the top but Boddy keeps moving.
Boddy is adopting a defensive guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Boddy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Boddy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Boddy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Greaves looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Boddy is looking to take a break and control but Greaves is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Greaves can't do much from the bottom here.
You can see the frustration on Greaves's face as Boddy controls the position.

Boddy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Greaves knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Greaves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Boddy trying to control the position but Greaves is working away.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Boddy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boddy throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Boddy scores a takedown into full mount!
Boddy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Boddy tries to control but Greaves wriggling away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Greaves tries to reverse the position but Boddy maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Boddy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Boddy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Boddy happy to just control the position for now.
Let's hope that Boddy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Greaves tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Boddy presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Boddy tries to control but Greaves wriggling away.
Boddy controlling the pace for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Boddy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Greaves is looking to reverse the position.
Boddy just content to control the position.

Boddy tries to advance to mount but can't.
Boddy is staying tight to Greaves's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Boddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Greaves keeps working.
Boddy working away.

Boddy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Greaves will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Jimmy Greaves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Boddy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

John Boddy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Boddy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
