Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tex Williams!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Boushay!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boushay circles away from the clinch attempt.
Williams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Williams throws a right and a left that Boushay avoids nicely.
Boushay fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boushay takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Williams cracks Boushay with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Bobby Boushay has been cut.
Williams looks to land a combination but Boushay avoids it well.
Boushay works the jab nicely.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Boushay sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Williams swings away with a body shot that misses
and Boushay counters with a stiff right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boushay takes the fight into the clinch.
Boushay breaks from the clinch.
Williams throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Boushay counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Williams thinking.
Boushay slips under a jab from Williams.
Boushay tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Boushay connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Williams to the floor! Boushay dives in looking for the finish!
It looks like Tex Williams has been cut.
Williams is breathing heavily.
Boushay controlling the pace.
Boushay stands up and beckons Williams to join him on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams tries to clinch up but Boushay circles away and keeps his distance.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boushay swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Williams misses with a series of wild punches.
Williams blocks a head kick by Boushay.
Boushay wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Boushay moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Boushay is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Williams hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Bobby Boushay!
