PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tycoon One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Onuma Dieke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dieke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but One swivels and escapes.
One is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dieke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
It looked like One was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
One swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dieke counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

One darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
One is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Dieke trying to control but One postures up.
One keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
One drops an elbow to the side of Dieke's head.

One is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dieke doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time One.

One tries to stand but Dieke is controlling from the bottom.
One sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dieke wants to get back to his feet but One is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
One slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Dieke wants to get back to his feet but One passes into half guard.
One is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice takedown defense from One. No joy for Dieke on that attempt.
One seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Dieke tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but One swivels and escapes.
Tycoon One has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Onuma Dieke.

One closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dieke tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Dieke is desperately trying to improve his position but One has a good base and remains in mount.
Dieke looks winded!
One lands a couple of good shots and Dieke has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
A bit of a pause in the action here. One controlling the positon.

One looking for the RNC.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

One is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dieke has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
One lands a shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
One is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tycoon One dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

One scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Dieke is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One taking a breather here.
One seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dieke for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
One works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
One takes a little break here. Dieke wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

One is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dieke knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dieke is looking to regain half guard here but One keeps moving and retains side control.
Dieke is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dieke is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, One asserts his dominance and retains side control.
One taking a breather here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
One continues to stall.
Tycoon One overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
One landing strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

One stands up and beckons Dieke to his feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from One lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dieke has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dieke and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

One clinches up against the cage.

One decides to pull guard.

One had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dieke defends it easily.
One pulls Dieke in close to prevent any damage.
One keeping full guard, as Dieke tries to pass.

Dieke has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing One to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Dieke is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - One pulls down on the head and he's put Dieke to sleep! This one is all over!
