Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Walter Rothko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Worner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walter Rothko !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Worner!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Worner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rothko isn't going anywhere.
Rothko is looking for a sweep.
Rothko struggling a bit here.
Worner tries to move to mount but Rothko blocks the move with his legs.

Worner tries for a kimura but Rothko is defending well.

Worner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Worner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

You can see the frustration on Rothko 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rothko is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Worner off and has taken his back!

Worner defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Rothko 's arms.

Rothko is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Worner is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Rothko is looking for the choke from the back position but Worner is controlling his hands well.

Rothko really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Worner.
Rothko 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Worner is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rothko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rothko wants it to stay on the feet.
Worner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rothko defends it nicely.

Walter Rothko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Worner.
Worner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rothko .
Rothko shoots in but no luck this time.
As Rothko backs off Worner throws a huge counter combo but Rothko manages to avoid it all.
Rothko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rothko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Worner but Worner pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rothko pulls Worner in close to prevent any damage.

Worner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rothko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rothko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Worner advances to half guard.
Rothko misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Worner is looking to advance position but Rothko won't allow it.
Worner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rothko gets back to full guard.

Worner advances position into side control!
Worner tries to advance to mount but Rothko denies him.
Worner has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rothko !

Worner wants to finish this one by submission but Rothko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Worner.
Rothko tries to hold on but Worner pushes him away.
Rothko is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rothko is working hard here to advance position.

Worner looking for a guillotine from mount but Rothko is having none of it.
Austin Worner has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rothko is trying desperately to improve position.

Worner is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rothko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rothko shrugs it off.

Worner jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rothko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rothko and Worner has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Rothko gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Rothko won't allow Worner to pass to mount.
Worner trying to advance position but Rothko counters by regaining guard.
Rothko is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Austin Worner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rothko in particular looking to stall.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Worner is in trouble now - Rothko has advanced to mount!
Rothko is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Rothko has hold of Worner's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Worner manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Worner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Worner holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rothko tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Poor strikes thrown by Rothko there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rothko content just to control the position here.

Rothko working for a guillotine from mount but Worner is in no mood to give up.
Rothko misses with a head shot.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Worner tries to hold on but Rothko pushes him away.
Rothko looking to land elbow strikes but Worner uses the position to regain half guard.
Rothko not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rothko wants to free his trapped foot but Worner is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rothko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Worner defends well and Rothko ends up having to push Worner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Worner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Worner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rothko .
Worner lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

And that's the end of the fight!
Walter Rothko showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rothko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
