Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wincent Montag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Montag closes the distance and clinches.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Sharp is trying to pull guard but Montag turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Montag prevents a takedown attempt there.

Sharp jumps guard but Montag turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Montag has picked Sharp up - he's going for a ride! Montag dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Montag has his hands on Sharp's head, controlling the position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Montag moves into the clinch.
Sharp tries to pull guard but Montag holds him up against the cage and eventually Sharp drops back down to his feet.

Montag closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sharp to the mat! Sharp manages to get full guard.
Montag stops Sharp from standing up.

Sharp is looking for a triangle but Montag pushes his legs off easily.
Montag is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Montag content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Montag not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Montag would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wincent Montag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Montag gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sharp fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Montag is pressed up against the cage. Sharp has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Montag down to the mat. Montag avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Let's hope that Montag has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Montag seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Montag is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sharp wants to control but Montag is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Montag wants to stand but Sharp has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Sharp is looking for a sweep. Montag is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Montag throws a nice looking combination but Sharp bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
It looked like Sharp wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Montag dips to his left and cracks Sharp with an uppercut!

Montag throws a leg kick
and Sharp counters with a series of strikes. Montag will be more careful next time no doubt.

Montag gets a takedown into half guard.
Montag is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Wincent Montag has got the better of the ground game so far.

Montag is working for a submission of some sort.
Montag winds up and cracks Sharp with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Montag is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sharp doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Montag.

Montag lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Wincent Montag showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sharp looks to clinch

and Montag decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sharp's guard.
Montag stays in close to Sharp's body and controls the position.
Montag has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montag wants to get up but he can't break Sharp's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Sharp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Montag is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Montag bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Montag wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sharp, who protects the arm well.

Montag takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Montag lands a couple of good shots and Sharp has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Sharp is rocked!

Montag lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Oh Sharp is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Montag is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Sharp is defending well though. Montag let's go of the attempt for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Montag is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Sharp knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Sharp for a finish.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Montag. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Montag slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
