Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Mead!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mead slips a jab from Benton.
Benton stuns Mead with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mead has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Benton lunges at Mead with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mead's hand.
It looks like Gary Mead has been cut.
Mead looks to score with a jab to the body but Benton is just out of range.
Mead shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Benton moves into full guard.
Mead is looking to work some ground and pound but Benton has wrist control.
Mead postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mead has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Benton to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Mead is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Benton pulls down on the head and he's put Mead to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Grant Benton!
