Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricado Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shaw counters with a nice low kick that buckles Lopez's knee momentarily.
An inside leg kick lands from Lopez.
Shaw shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lopez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shaw is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lopez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shaw gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shaw advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shaw stalling.
Lopez is looking to get back to is feet but Shaw passes into side control.
Shaw stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Lopez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Shaw counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Shaw.
Lopez is breathing heavily.
Shaw has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lopez regains guard immediately.
Shaw is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Shaw might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Shaw is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shaw slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Shaw has an Americana. Lopez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Shaw is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Shaw hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Christopher Shaw!
