Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Malat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malat's entrance music is Put the Lime in the Coconut. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Malat avoids the body shot from Stone.
Stone with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Nice uppercut lands for Stone. That snapped Malat's head back.
Stone fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A slow jab from Stone misses its intended target.

Stone feints and as Malat raises his hands in defense, Stone changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stone is looking to stand up but Malat won't let him.

Stone stands up over Malat, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Stone looks to land a left hand but Malat moved out of range nicely.
Malat throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stone's waist but Stone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Malat off to one side.
Malat moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stone misses with a low kick as Malat jumps back.

Malat bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Malat tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Malat doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Stone counters with a single leg into guard. Malat didn't expect that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Malat is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stone's back!

Malat has got one arm under Stone's chin. This could be trouble... Stone trying to control the other hand but Malat gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Stone has tapped out! The fight is over!
