The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyle shoots in but no luck this time.
Wspanialy connects with a body shot.

Boyle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wspanialy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wspanialy enables Boyle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wspanialy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyle won't allow Wspanialy to sweep him here.

Wspanialy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Wspanialy has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Boyle is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wspanialy.

Boyle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Boyle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A close round but Waldemar Wspanialy will probably get the nod.
That's time! Boyle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Boyle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wspanialy's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyle lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Wspanialy lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boyle is on top in guard.

Boyle stands and steps away. Wspanialy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Boyle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wspanialy's guard.
Wspanialy wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Boyle manages to pass to side control.

Boyle wants to work for an arm triangle but Wspanialy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
