Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Feivish Hershel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucifer Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hershel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hershel has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Palhares throws a looping overhand right but Hershel ducks down to avoid it.
Hershel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Palhares.
Hershel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Palhares shoots in looking for a takedown but Hershel manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Palhares's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hershel drops down looking for a counter takedown but Palhares sprawls and moves away.
Hershel throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hershel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Palhares.
Palhares tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hershel was well out of range. Poor timing from Palhares.
Hershel avoids the body shot from Palhares.
Palhares avoids a punch combination nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palhares lands with an uppercut that bounces Hershel off the cage and back into range.

Hershel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hershel wants to free his trapped foot but Palhares is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Hershel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Palhares's head.
Palhares is looking for a sweep. Hershel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Palhares is not content to let Hershel control the position.
Hershel lands strikes from half guard.
Palhares makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Palhares.
Palhares pulls Hershel in close to prevent any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hershel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hershel trying to control the position from guard on top but Palhares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Palhares scores with a hook to the body. Hershel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hershel slips a jab from Palhares.
Hershel throws a jab when Palhares was well out of range.
Palhares shoots for a double leg takedown but Hershel sprawls well. He's pushed Palhares's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hershel tries to counter with a takedown but Palhares is quick to defend against it.

Hershel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Palhares.
Palhares lands with a nice body punch.
Palhares cracks Hershel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Palhares connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hershel's hands.

Hershel is rocked!
Palhares cracks Hershel with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Hershel falls to his knees and Palhares doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucifer Palhares!
