Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shaw pinned against the cage. Shaw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Michaels looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Shaw shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Michaels eats them both and turns towards Shaw to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Michaels has a takedown stuffed.
Shaw gets the takedown into side control.
My spies in The Hut - $50 inform me that Shaw has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Michaels is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shaw.

Shaw fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Michaels appears to be looking for a big counter.
Shaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Michaels sprawls well. He's pushed Shaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Michaels attempts a counter takedown but Shaw avoids it well and moves away.
Shaw gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Michaels to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Michaels landing some decent shots from guard.
Shaw throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Michaels escapes and throws Shaw's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Shaw is looking for a sweep.
Shaw tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Michaels is punishing Shaw with strikes - can he finish him?!
Michaels working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Shaw is doing well to defend. Michaels seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Shaw is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Roman Michaels!
A relieved looking Roman Michaels thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Dj Shaw had this to say: 'This is bullshit i had that fight he was the better fighter though so im just going to ask for a rematch'.
