Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Woody May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Utah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes to the cage accompanied by Watch you Bleed by FFDP. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Woody May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johny Utah!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
May throws a push kick but Utah slaps the foot to one side.
Utah darts in looking for a takedown but May gets double underhooks and turns Utah into the cage.
Utah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but May avoids it really well and circles away.

Utah scores with a takedown into May's guard.
May pulls Utah in close to his closed guard and prevents Utah from doing any damage or advancing position.
Utah pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. May is keeping the position for now.
We've been hearing good reports from May's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
May is pulling down on Utah's head. It's preventing any offense from Utah, at least for the moment.
Utah slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

May seems a little lost for a moment, as Utah dominates the positioning.

May swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Utah shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with May but May pushes him off and we're back to square one.

May stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and May wants it to stay on the feet.
Woody May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Utah is rocked!
May throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Utah tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but May swivels and escapes.

Utah gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Utah is still in real trouble! Can May finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
May controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Utah seems to have recovered his senses.
Utah looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Utah controls May momentarily but May frees himself.

May controlling from the top position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
May content to stall in guard here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
May really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
May misses the shot to the body.
Utah shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says May as he avoids it easily.
May misses with a series of wild punches.
Utah dives in for a single leg takedown but May sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Utah.
May scores with a shot to the body.

May closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Utah goes for a takedown attempt but May pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Woody May dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nice uppercut lands for May. That snapped Utah's head back.


It looks like Johny Utah has been cut.
May waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Utah.

May moves into range and clinches up with Utah.
Utah is trying to drag May to the mat but May just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

May moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Utah tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but May swivels and escapes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Utah.
May looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Utah is breathing heavily.

May clinches up with Utah and pushes him back against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from May.
May prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Utah has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by May after a bit of a struggle.
Utah tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. May smiles and moves away.
An inside leg kick lands from May.
May bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Utah's head.
May connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
May drops Utah with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Utah! May dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Woody May!
A very excited looking Woody May made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
