Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yury Vesnev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eliah Marshal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshal comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Straigh Outta Compton kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eliah Marshal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marshal throws out a loose jab but Vesnev uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vesnev throws a looping overhand right but Marshal ducks down to avoid it.

Marshal takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Marshal lands with a nice body kick.
We've been hearing reports that Vesnev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Marshal leaves Vesnev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Vesnev counters with a nice double leg into side control. Marshal won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Vesnev wants to control the pace but Marshal is squirming around nicely.
BOOM! Vesnev connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Marshal tries to reverse the position but Vesnev maintains control.
Vesnev lands a big shot there that rocks Marshal but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Vesnev throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Vesnev throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Marshal because Vesnev loaded up on that one.

Vesnev tries to control but Marshal wriggling away.
Vesnev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marshal bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Marshal passes Vesnev's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marshal throws a strike but Vesnev avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Marshal content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Vesnev has locked up a guillotine! Vesnev's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Marshal is holding on here and Vesnev must be using up a lot of energy. Marshal has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Vesnev gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
