Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yong Winters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cri Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cri Cross has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Yong Winters's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yong Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cri Cross !
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross has his takedown stuffed
letting Winters counter with a right hand.
Cross looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Winters shoots for a takedown but Cross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cross gets a clinch.
Winters tries to pull guard but Cross holds him up against the cage and eventually Winters drops back down to his feet.
Winters tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cross smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yong Winters. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Winters throws a series of punches but Cross moves out of range.
As Winters backs off Cross throws a huge counter combo but Winters manages to avoid it all.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Winters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cross sprawls well initially but Winters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cross tries to kick Winters off but Winters keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Winters is working for a kimura but Cross is defending it quite comfortably.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cross looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cross looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
As Cross looks to move away, Winters throws a big counter combo bu Cross just gets out of the way.

Winters drives through with a takedown into Cross 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Winters would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Cross looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Winters puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Cross keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Cross is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cross is looking to get back to full guard here but Winters has managed to pass to side control instead.

Winters is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cross is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cross trying his best to control but Winters has mounted him.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Winters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cross sprawls well initially but Winters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Winters breaks from Cross 's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Cross keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Cross tries to lock up and control but Winters gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Yong Winters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cross is breathing heavily.

Winters lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Cross hang on?
Winters lands a couple of good shots and Cross has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Winters is not going to allow Cross to sit and survive in this position.

Cross defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Winters has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Winters is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Cross has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Winters is persistently looking for the submission but Cross is defending it well.

Cross is trying to stand back up.
Cross is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Winters gets his hands free as Cross looks to control.
Cross is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Winters lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Winters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground.

Cross defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Winters's arms.
Cross is trying to stand back up.

Winters is striking from the back but Cross escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yong Winters dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Winters shoots in looking for a takedown but Cross manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Winters's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cross throws a sloppy head kick and Winters moves out of range easily.
Winters fails to land the takedown.
Winters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Winters shoots in for a takedown but Cross shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Winters shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cross as he jumps to the side.
Winters closes the distance and clinches up with Cross , looking for a takedown. Winters pushes Cross against the cage but Cross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cross moves into range and clinches up with Winters.
Cross wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Winters jumps guard but Cross turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
