The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Wang looking to score a takedown here. Sparks is defending well but Wang drives through and ends up in Sparks's guard.
Wang thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wang is pushing down on Sparks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sparks is fighting to maintain full guard but Wang has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wang is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wang is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
