PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chip Chop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casper Duelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chop's entrance music is sizzla - solid as a rock. A fine choice. Duelly has chosen Its A Fight as his entrance music. Casper Duelly is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chip Chop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Casper Duelly!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chop shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Duelly but Duelly pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chop looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Duelly tries for a takedown but Chop sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Duelly gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Duelly looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duelly preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Duelly is trying to keep Chop in close.

Duelly throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duelly wants to stand but Chop is controlling the position.

Chop decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Chop has his takedown stuffed
and Duelly counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Chop is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Duelly tries for a takedown but Chop sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Duelly shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chop as he jumps to the side.
Chip Chop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Casper Duelly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A right-left combo lands from Chop.
Chop looks to land a combination. Duelly sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
A combination from Chop does no damage.
Chip Chop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Duelly is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Chop.

Duelly clinches up against the cage.

Duelly has Chop pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Duelly pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chop tumbling to the mat - Duelly dives into Chop's guard.
Duelly looks gassed!
Chop doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Duelly drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duelly jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chop pushes Duelly off and gets back to his feet.
Chop misses with a takedown

and Duelly decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chop's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Duelly gets to his feet. Chop looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Chop lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Duelly backs up against the cage.
Chop bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Duelly's head backwards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chop keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chop lands with a nice combination. Duelly backs away looking to recover.
Duelly misses with a head kick.

Chop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chop really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Chop scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Duelly to see if he's OK.
Chop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duelly on the ground.
Chop lands a decent elbow from side control.
Duelly is looking for a sweep.
Duelly manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Chop wants to improve his position but Duelly is controlling well.
Chop is trying to control but can't.
Duelly trying to control the action but Chop is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Chop lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Chop fails with a takedown attempt.

Duelly shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Duelly is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chop doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Duelly.
Chop is staying active underneath Duelly, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Chop trying to hold on to Duelly's head to control him but Duelly postures up.
Duelly works his way into full mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chop takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Duelly working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Chop really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Duelly looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Chop throwing hammer fists to the chest of Duelly. What's that going to do exactly?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chop is in all sorts of trouble here.
Duelly is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Duelly can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Chop is looking to escape.
Chop is looking to improve his position but Duelly isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Casper Duelly will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Duelly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Chop closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chop lands in his opponent's guard.

Duelly pushes a forearm under Chop's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Chop is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Casper Duelly!
