PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Horcea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Marcus Horcea was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Horcea.
Black fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Horcea manages to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Black lands an impressive looking overhand right. Horcea doesn't seem phased though.
Horcea shoots for a takedown but Black saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A counter left hand to the body from Black misses its target.

Horcea clinches.
Black can't find room to land a body shot as Horcea controls the action.
Black scores with a nice hook to the head.
Horcea tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Black smiles and moves away.
Horcea shoots in looking for a takedown but Black manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Horcea's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Horcea counters with a nice double leg into side control. Black won't be happy with that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Horcea wants to stand up but Black has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Horcea in particular looking to stall.
Horcea is trying to control. Black wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Black has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Horcea is working away from the top position though.

Horcea is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Horcea seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Horcea closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Horcea lands in his opponent's guard.

Black has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Horcea off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Black swings for the body but Horcea moves out of range.
Black avoids a punch combination nicely.
Horcea uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Black.

Horcea clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Black dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Black swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Black feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Horcea swivels though and keeps the full guard.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Black creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Black gets underhooks to prevent Horcea's takedown attempt.
Horcea jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Black walks away with a smile on his face. Horcea gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lee Black showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Black, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
