Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kanga Roos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco dAnconia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dAnconia has chosen Revolution as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kanga Roos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Francisco dAnconia!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dAnconia throws a one two combo.


It looks like Kanga Roos has been cut.

Roos gets in close and instigates a clinch.
dAnconia lands a body shot in the clinch.
dAnconia working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
dAnconia tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Roos's elbow.
dAnconia doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Roos manages to break the clinch.

Roos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into dAnconia's guard.
dAnconia trying to control the position.
dAnconia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roos is one step ahead there.
Roos is looking to work some ground and pound but dAnconia has wrist control.
dAnconia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Roos manages to get himself to full guard.
Roos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

dAnconia with a nice head shot there.
dAnconia wants to control from the top but Roos keeps moving.

dAnconia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, dAnconia has managed to get both his arms back between Roos's legs - danger averted.
Roos doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Roos wants to sweep but no luck.

Roos looking for a guillotine here but dAnconia defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
dAnconia trying to control the position from guard on top but Roos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Roos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and dAnconia defends well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Roos is looking for a triangle but dAnconia pushes his legs off easily.

Roos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. dAnconia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. dAnconia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Roos wants to hit a switch here but dAnconia passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Roos there!
dAnconia fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

dAnconia lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Roos hang on?
Roos regains half guard.
dAnconia has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
dAnconia wants to control but Roos is keeping him busy.
Roos is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Roos looking for submissions off his back.
Roos is looking to improve his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with dAnconia in particular looking to stall.
dAnconia trying to control the action but Roos is working from the bottom.

Kanga Roos's cut is getting worse.

dAnconia is keen to just control but Roos is a slippery customer.
Roos is trying to get back to full guard.
dAnconia lands with a punch from half guard.
Roos won't allow dAnconia to pass to mount.
Roos flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Roos is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.
dAnconia lands strikes from half guard.
Roos throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
dAnconia blocks the strikes from Roos.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kanga Roos's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Roos tries to roll over but dAnconia keeps him under control.
Roos lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Francisco dAnconia dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kanga Roos's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Roos clinches.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from dAnconia in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
dAnconia misses with a punch to the body.
Roos swings wildly with an uppercut but dAnconia uses good head movement to avoid it.

Roos breaks from the clinch.
Roos blocks a head kick by dAnconia.

Roos scores with a takedown into dAnconia's guard.
dAnconia working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roos.
Roos won't allow dAnconia to sweep him here.
dAnconia controls Roos momentarily but Roos frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roos postures up in dAnconia's guard and throws a big left but dAnconia blocks it.
dAnconia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Roos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Roos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

dAnconia tries to bench press Roos off him but Roos keeps the position.
Kanga Roos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roos working away.
dAnconia gets back to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Roos misses with a takedown
and dAnconia makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roos.
dAnconia dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Roos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A nice leg kick lands there from dAnconia.
dAnconia stuffs the takedown attempt from Roos. Roos gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanga Roos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Roos with that takedown attempt.
Roos looks for a takedown but dAnconia sprawls well.
dAnconia swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Roos looking to score a takedown here. dAnconia is defending well but Roos drives through and ends up in dAnconia's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now dAnconia is on top in guard.
dAnconia trying to stand up but can't free himself from Roos's guard.

Roos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but dAnconia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
dAnconia makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Roos looking for submissions from the bottom but instead dAnconia passes into side control.
Roos tries to buck dAnconia off but dAnconia is having none of it.
The referee asks dAnconia politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. dAnconia prefers to stall for the moment though.
Roos is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Roos wants to improve his position but dAnconia is controlling well.
dAnconia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roos keeps working.

dAnconia wants to stand but Roos has his arm trapped.
A lull in the action here as dAnconia stalls from top position.
Roos gets back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Francisco dAnconia will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Roos on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Roos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roos lands in his opponent's guard.
dAnconia is trying to keep Roos in close.
dAnconia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Roos drops back, looking for a kneebar! dAnconia looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. dAnconia looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from dAnconia!

Jeez, Kanga Roos's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kanga Roos's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Francisco dAnconia!
In his post fight interview, Francisco dAnconia started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
