Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dillon Stapleden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zophiel Furfur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dillon Stapleden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zophiel Furfur!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stapleden looks for a takedown but Furfur sprawls well.
Furfur connects with a right hand. Stapleden shakes it off.
Furfur throws the kick towards the body but Stapleden avoids it.
Stapleden half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Furfur changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Stapleden gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Furfur counter with a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stapleden shoots in for a takedown but Furfur shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Furfur darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stapleden has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stapleden moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Furfur lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Stapleden seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Stapleden moves out of range as Furfur throws a body kick.

Stapleden drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stapleden is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Stapleden scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Stapleden looking to pass the guard.
Stapleden slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Donk. Furfur catches Stapleden right on the button with a cross.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Furfur swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Stapleden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Furfur was covering up waiting for the punch and Stapleden finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Stapleden is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Furfur can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stapleden controls the pace.

A low kick from Furfur is predictable there
and Stapleden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Furfur leaves Stapleden with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stapleden takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Furfur throws a looping overhand right but Stapleden ducks down to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A looping hook to the body misses from Furfur. Stapleden does a little dance to reset his feet.

Stapleden takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stapleden looks to land a left hand but Furfur moved out of range nicely.

Zophiel Furfur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Furfur wants to get back to his feet but Stapleden is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick from Furfur lands but Stapleden takes it in his stride.

Furfur uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stapleden has time to react.

Zophiel Furfur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Furfur winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
