Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Dempsey could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wanderlei Silva's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.

Dempsey moves into the clinch.

Silva manages to break the clinch.
Dempsey tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dempsey wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage.

Dempsey is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Dempsey has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dempsey uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dempsey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

No joy there for Dempsey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dempsey.
Dempsey throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Silva drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Silva seems to have locked his on tight now - Dempsey screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Silva, as he picks up the win!
