Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Gallagher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krabis Kropelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krabis Kropelis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Scott Gallagher's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Scott Gallagher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Krabis Kropelis!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kropelis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gallagher tries to avoid it but Kropelis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gallagher to the ground. Gallagher escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gallagher is looking to counter punch.
Gallagher cracks Kropelis with a good jab.
Gallagher tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kropelis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kropelis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gallagher as he jumps to the side.
Scott Gallagher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kropelis fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Scott Gallagher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Krabis Kropelis.

Gallagher has Kropelis up against the cage in a clinch.

Kropelis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gallagher regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kropelis tries to free his leg and advance position but Gallagher is retaining full guard.

Gallagher bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kropelis's guard.

Gallagher has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gallagher is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Gallagher wants to stand and escape but instead Kropelis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kropelis is fighting to break Gallagher's control of his arms but Gallagher is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kropelis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gallagher tries to improve position but can't.

Kropelis content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Gallagher tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kropelis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've been informed that Kropelis has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gallagher tries to buck Kropelis off but Kropelis is having none of it.
The referee asks Kropelis politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kropelis prefers to stall for the moment though.
Gallagher can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kropelis wants to stand but Gallagher is controlling his arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gallagher takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kropelis tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kropelis is staying tight to Gallagher's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Gallagher wants to control but Kropelis postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kropelis.
Kropelis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Krabis Kropelis will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Kropelis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gallagher struggling a bit here.
Gallagher manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kropelis holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Kropelis makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kropelis.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gallagher accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kropelis pulls Gallagher in to control the position.
Kropelis has a closed guard, preventing Gallagher from standing up.
Gallagher is fighting to break Kropelis's control of his arms but Kropelis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kropelis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gallagher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gallagher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kropelis is pulling down on Gallagher's head to control his posture.
Krabis Kropelis has got the better of the ground game so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kropelis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Kropelis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Gallagher has Kropelis pulled in close to control his posture.

Gallagher is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gallagher is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gallagher controls Kropelis momentarily but Kropelis frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Gallagher tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kropelis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kropelis swats away the attempt to clinch by Gallagher.

Kropelis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gallagher is trying to escape the position but Kropelis is controlling the position.
Gallagher is looking to reverse the position.
Kropelis slows the pace down.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gallagher wants to get back to his feet but Kropelis drags him back down.

Krabis Kropelis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Kropelis shoots for a double leg takedown but Gallagher sprawls well. He's pushed Kropelis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gallagher shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kropelis but Kropelis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kropelis wants to counter with a clinch but Gallagher pushes him away.

Kropelis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kropelis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A lull in the action here as Kropelis stalls from top position.

Gallagher wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Kropelis has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Gallagher's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Gallagher is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Kropelis!
