Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rodlfo Alvarado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Usui Reiki!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarado shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Reiki flicks out a counter leg kick but Alvarado steps away.
Nice takedown defense from Reiki. No joy for Alvarado on that attempt.
Alvarado backing away here, and Reiki unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Alvarado misses with a kick to the body.
Reiki follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Alvarado closes the distance and clinches up with Reiki, looking for a takedown. Alvarado pushes Reiki against the cage but Reiki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodlfo Alvarado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Reiki slaps away a takedown attempt from Alvarado, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reiki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alvarado.
A little jabbing left from Reiki on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Alvarado tries to clinch up but Reiki circles away and keeps his distance.

Alvarado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Alvarado showed some decent athleticism there.

Reiki tries to get to full guard but Alvarado has control of the leg.
Reiki is not content to let Alvarado control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Alvarado in particular looking to stall.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reiki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reiki is concentrating on defense, preventing Alvarado from advancing position.

Alvarado wants to control from the top but Reiki keeps moving.

Reiki wants to stand but Alvarado is controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Alvarado shoots in but Reiki avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Alvarado moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromReiki.
Alvarado stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reiki.
Alvarado fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reiki throws a solid leg kick but Alvarado takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Reiki.
Alvarado doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reiki counters with a nice low kick that buckles Alvarado's knee momentarily.
Alvarado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alvarado is breathing heavily.
Alvarado misses with a takedown attempt - Reiki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alvarado backing away here, and Reiki unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Usui Reiki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarado tries to bum rush Reiki with a series of wild strikes but Reiki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Alvarado wants to clinch up but Reiki keeps it at a distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alvarado shoots in looking for a takedown. Reiki tries to sprawl out of it but Alvarado keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reiki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Reiki thinks about the counter body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Usui Reiki dominated that round.
That's time! Alvarado's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Reiki.
Reiki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Alvarado. That did some damage!

Alvarado decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Reiki wants to control but Alvarado is keeping busy.

Rodlfo Alvarado overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Alvarado is working to tighten his grip on Reiki's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Reiki has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Alvarado is really squeezing tight and eventually Reiki passes out! Alvarado breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Rodlfo Alvarado!
