PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Moses Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wang has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Moses Slater has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang throws a sloppy head kick and Slater moves out of range easily.
Wang throws a series of punches but Slater avoids them all with ease.
Slater throws a quick counter head kick but Wang was just out of range.
Wang misses with a hook.
Slater throws a quick counter head kick but Wang was just out of range.
Wang throws a nice looking combination but Slater bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wang looks winded!
Wang misses with a head kick.
Slater appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Wang throws a head kick that misses.
Slater throws a big counter combination but Wang scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Wang misses with a hook. Slater ducked under it nicely.

Slater closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wang to the mat! Wang manages to get full guard.
Slater is standing up over Wang. Wang looks to escape but Slater dives into side control.
Wang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slater. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Slater cracks Wang with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Slater decides to stand back up. Slater steps back and let's Wang get back to his feet.

Slater moves into range and clinches up with Wang.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slater lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Wang or not.
Wang on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Slater tries to throw a body punch but Wang avoids it by throwing Slater back against the cage.
Slater lands a good knee to the midsection. Wang won't want to take too many of those.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Slater creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Slater drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wang gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Wang gets underhooks to prevent Slater's takedown attempt.
Slater swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Slater keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wang's efforts to push away.
Slater tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Slater wants the takedown. Wang is fighting it off but Slater persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wang's guard against the cage.
Wang wants to get back to his feet but Slater passes into half guard.

Slater slips a nice elbow through Wang's hands, connecting with Wang's forehead.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Slater is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wang doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slater.
Slater really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Slater connects with a nice short shot to Wang's temple.
Wang is trying to escape back to his feet but Slater uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Slater is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wang is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Slater looks up at the clock and then as Wang takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Slater smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Slater has hold of Wang's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Wang seems comfortable defending it but Slater has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Wang is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Wang is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Slater couldn't care less - he's delighted!
