Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Alexander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Creek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Creek moves into the clinch successfully.
Creek stops a takedown attempt from Alexander.

Creek breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Julius Creek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Creek clinches up against the cage.
Alexander is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Alexander is trying to pull guard but Creek has him pressed against the cage.
Creek slows down the pace here.

Creek escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alexander throws a body punch but Creek moves out of range.
Alexander doesn't manage to clinch there - Creek circles away.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Alexander is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Creek defends well.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Creek gets to his feet - Alexander follows without any prompting.
Creek misses with a body kick.

Creek fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alexander, pushing him back against the cage.
Alexander wants to break free but Creek has control.
Creek scores with a hook to the body.
Creek stalling the fight.
Alexander can't break the clinch.

Creek is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Alexander can't fight it off and eventually Creek manages to take the fight to the floor. Alexander looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Alexander has momentary wrist control but Creek slips an elbow through the middle.

Creek wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alexander, who protects the arm well.
Creek takes a little break here. Alexander wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Creek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Alexander throws a leg kick but Creek moved away.
Creek stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Creek wants it to stay on the feet.

Creek drives through and clinches with Alexander against the cage.
Alexander is trying to force a seperation but Creek has the dominant position.
Alexander is looking to break free of the clinch but Creek has double underhooks.

Creek dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Alexander jumps guard but Creek turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Creek turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Alexander can't do much from the bottom here.
Creek is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Alexander's shoulder. That is not cool.

Creek advances nicely into full mount.
Creek controlling the pace for now.
Alexander tries to hold on but Creek pushes him away.
Alexander takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Creek cracks Alexander with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Creek with shots to the head and body - Alexander looks very uncomfortable down there.

Creek working for a submission but Alexander is keeping him at bay.
Creek is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Creek cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Alexander tries to hold on but Creek pushes him away.
Creek wants to stand but Alexander is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Creek controlling the pace for now.
Alexander is in all sorts of trouble here.
Creek fails to advance to Alexander's back.
Alexander's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Alexander takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Alexander is trying to escape the mount.
Creek cracks Alexander with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Alexander is in a horrible position here. Creek smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Creek is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Alexander can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Alexander is trying desperately to improve position.
Creek content just to control the position here.

Alexander is squirming around, avoiding Creek's attempts to control the action.
Creek tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Creek takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Creek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Creek changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alexander looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alexander gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Alexander is looking to get back to full guard here but Creek has managed to pass to side control instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Creek staying calm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alexander tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Creek just content to control the position.

Creek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alexander knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Creek working the ground and pound from side control.
Alexander tries to bench press Creek off him but Creek keeps the position.

Creek is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alexander is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A lull in the action here.

Alexander is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Well, if Creek is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Alexander is trying to maintain the position but Creek is very close to passing his half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alexander is trying to get back to full guard.
Creek throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Alexander to regain full guard.
Creek postures up and lands a big shot to Alexander's brow.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alexander wants to sweep here but Creek controlling him for the moment.
Creek not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Julius Creek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Creek has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
