PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack OFF (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackie Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moon has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack OFF!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackie Moon!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OFF changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Moon looks gassed!
Moon pushes OFF away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, OFF gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
OFF wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moon keeps working.

OFF wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Moon, who protects the arm well.
OFF is working Moon over with some ground and pound from side control.
OFF passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Moon!
OFF fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moon looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
OFF tries to keep control of the position but Moon is staying busy.

Moon is having to fend off submission attempts from OFF, who is looking to sink in the choke. OFF doesn't have the hooks in though and Moon manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Moon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
OFF checks a low kick from Moon.

OFF closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - OFF lands in his opponent's guard.

and OFF counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by OFF.

Moon is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
OFF moves into full guard.
Moon prevents OFF from getting back to his feet.
OFF is trying to control the position but Moon postures up.
OFF has control of Moon's left arm, preventing Moon from doing any damage.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Moon's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
OFF changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moon tries to avoid it but OFF manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moon to the ground. Moon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack OFF. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

OFF shoots for a takedown but Moon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
No luck for OFF with that takedown attempt.
OFF throws a combination. Moon tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Moon stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from OFF.

Moon tries to keep at a distance but OFF has taken the fight into the clinch.
Moon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but OFF has him pressed against the cage.
Moon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
OFF goes for a takedown attempt but Moon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack OFF. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moon darts in trying to clinch

and OFF counters by moving into the clinch.
Moon is trying to maintain a safe position but OFF gets an underhook and turns Moon into the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Moon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

OFF shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than OFF was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Moon can do anything to dispel that myth.

Moon flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
OFF looking to control but Moon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
OFF blocks Moon's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Jack OFF overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Moon manages to regain half guard. Good work.

OFF wants the takedown. Moon is fighting it off but OFF persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Moon's guard against the cage.
Moon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Moon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed OFF's head.

OFF pushes Moon off and gets back to his feet.

OFF shoots in and drives through. Moon sprawls well.

Jackie Moon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jack OFF is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack OFF.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for OFF, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
