Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mizo Samxona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Kojima!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samxona stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Samxona clinches.
Samxona tries a body shot but Kojima blocks it.
Kojima should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Samxona breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Samxona counters with a right hand to the body.

Samxona fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kojima to the ground. Samxona is now in Kojima's guard.
Kojima has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Samxona has passed into side control.

Kojima felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

An out of breath Mizo Samxona thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
