The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vardey looking to score a takedown here. Box is defending well but Vardey drives through and ends up in Box's guard.
Vardey looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Box is looking to stand up but Vardey isn't so interested in that idea.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Box wants to stand up but Vardey is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Vardey has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Vardey there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Ryan Vardey has been cut.
We've been hearing reports that Vardey has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vardey fails in his attempt to clinch.
Box slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Box lands a big head kick that sends Vardey tumbling to the mat! Box takes a step backwards and waves Vardey back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Box lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Vardey crumples to the floor! Box milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
