Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Moe Lester!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergai Katanov!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester lands an overhand right.
Lester scores with a jab to the head.
Katanov looks for a takedown but Lester sprawls well.
Katanov fails with the takedown.
Lester throws a hook but Katanov avoids it easily.
Lester lands a nice looking body shot.
Lester ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Katanov feints and as Lester raises his hands in defense, Katanov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lester manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lester prevents the takedown attempt.
Moe Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergai Katanov.
Lester pushes Katanov back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Katanov blocking some punches.
Katanov goes for a takedown attempt but Lester pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Katanov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lester sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Katanov scores with a takedown into Lester's guard.
Lester is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Katanov is looking to pass into half guard but Lester pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Lester is in guard.
Lester gets to his feet. Katanov looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Katanov moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Lester lunges at Katanov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Katanov's hand.
Lester lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Katanov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lester sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Lester looks to land a left hand but Katanov moved out of range nicely.
Katanov steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Lester.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Katanov misses with a takedown
and Lester counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Katanov darts in looking for a takedown but Lester gets double underhooks and turns Katanov into the cage.
Lester is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Lester just misses with a punch to the body.
Katanov fails with a takedown attempt.
Lester just misses with a punch to the body.
Lester lands with a shot to the body.
Lester wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Lester lands a left and a right that send Katanov crashing to the mat, dazed. Lester thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Katanov is rocked!
Katanov looks winded!
Katanov tries to get into range but Lester steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Katanov! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Lester scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Moe Lester!
