The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ryan checks it well.
Slater throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ryan moves into the clinch successfully.
Ryan lands a shoulder strike.
Ryan prevents the takedown attempt.
Ryan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Slater's defenses.

It looks like Herb Slater has been cut.
Ryan lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Slater backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ryan has closed the distance and engaged Slater in a clinch.

Ryan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ryan plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ryan rushes Slater and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Slater takes an elbow to the temple.
Ryan scores with a shot to the side of Slater's head.

Slater is rocked!

Ryan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oh Slater is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ryan forces Slater back against the cage and clinches.
Slater seems to have got his legs back now.
Ryan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Herb Slater's cut is getting worse.

Ryan manages to break the clinch.

Ryan gets a clinch.
Ryan lands a body shot in the clinch.
Ryan lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Slater.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ryan lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Slater is struggling to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ryan has Slater pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Slater is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Ryan - that's hurt Slater badly! Oh, another knee lands and Slater is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Slater doesn't seem to be complaining.
