Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harold Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Alex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Alex has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harold Morris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Alex!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alex misses with a wild body shot.

Alex drives through and clinches with Morris against the cage.
Morris tries to break the clinch but Alex is controlling the position.

Alex jumps guard.
Morris is fighting to break Alex's control of his arms but Alex is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Morris is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Alex seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Alex bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morris's guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Alex looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Alex's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Morris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Morris has his foot on Alex's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Alex works his way back into a safe position though.
Alex throws a strike but Morris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Alex looking for subs off his back but Morris has passed one foot through into half guard.
Alex won't allow Morris to pass to mount.

Alex kicks Morris off and gets back to his feet.

Alex fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Morris, pushing him back against the cage.
Morris fails to pull guard.

Alex pulls guard effortlessly.
Alex seems keen to control Morris's posture.
Alex looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Morris showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Alex looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morris scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Alex looking to control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Morris being controlled here momentarily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Alex shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Morris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Morris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Alex dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Morris moves into the clinch successfully.

Alex has hold of one of Morris's legs. Morris is fighting the takedown attempt but Alex gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Morris looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Alex has picked Morris up and slammed him! Morris can't keep hold of the triangle and Alex manages to pass to side control!
Morris wants to control but Alex postures up.
Morris is not content to let Alex control the position.

Alex has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alex throws a low kick, looking for Morris's leg but Morris calmly moves out of range.
As Alex tries to get set, Morris tries to push him back and clinch up but Alex manages to avoid the attempt.

Alex clinches up against the cage.

Alex breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Alex shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Morris napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alex is breathing heavily.
Morris is trying to control Alex's posture but Alex avoids it.

Morris throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alex.
Morris tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
You can see the frustration on Morris's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morris looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Morris trying to get back to his feet but Alex is in full control for now.
Alex not allowing Morris to control his hands.

Alex is persistently looking for the submission but Morris is defending it well.

Morris trying to control the action but Alex just sinks the hooks in.
Alex is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Alex is controlling the position but Morris somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Morris tries to keep at a distance but Alex has taken the fight into the clinch.

Alex pulls guard effortlessly.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alex throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Morris postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Alex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Alex closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Morris to the mat! Morris manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alex trying to control but Morris is working from the bottom.
We've been informed that Alex has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Alex wants to pass the guard but Morris is keeping the position.
Alex takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morris looking for a triangle here. Alex is fighting it but it looks tight! Morris pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Alex is tapping out - this one is all over!
