Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clint Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Declan Gauss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clint Hill is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Clint Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Declan Gauss!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill misses with a straight right.

Hill gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gauss pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hill is keeping the position for now.
Gauss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hill is proving hard to escape from.

Gauss stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Gauss gets a takedown into half guard.
Hill is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gauss is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gauss trying to pass the guard but Hill defending well.

Gauss is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gauss passes the guard and advances to mount!
Gauss trying to control but Hill is having none of it.
Gauss tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gauss prevents Hill from getting the reversal.
Gauss controlling from the full mount.
Gauss can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hill is looking to escape.

Gauss wants to control but Hill has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Gauss goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Gauss throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hill.
A little feinted left hand from Hill on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Gauss misses with a wild combination.
Gauss lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Gauss manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hill on his heels. He'll look to pass Hill's guard now, I'm sure.
Hill keeping full guard, as Gauss tries to pass.
Gauss trying to control but Hill is working from the bottom.
Hill is adopting a defensive guard.
Gauss with a flurry of punches that miss.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gauss not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Declan Gauss dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gauss will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gauss is looking to score with low kicks.
Hill tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Gauss manages to circle out of the way.
Gauss has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gauss tries to land a front kick but Hill steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sloppy strikes from Gauss. Those never looked like landing.
Hill fails with the takedown.

Hill feints and as Gauss raises his hands in defense, Hill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hill wants to get up but he can't break Gauss's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hill postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hill scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Hill trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gauss's guard.
Gauss bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hill's guard.

Hill working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gauss.
Hill trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Hill doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Gauss showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Gauss trying to move into half guard but instead Hill has managed to sweep!
Hill postures up.
Hill postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hill loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hill won't allow Gauss to get back to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No joy there for Gauss, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Clint Hill is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gauss swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gauss closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Gauss seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Gauss is breathing heavily.
Gauss trying to pass the guard but Hill defending well.
Gauss trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gauss is looking to advance position but Hill won't allow it.
Gauss missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Hill is trying to control but can't.
Gauss works his way into side control.
Gauss remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Gauss taking a break here but Hill is having none of it and regains half guard.

Gauss stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hill to get to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gauss tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hill is able to avoid easily.

Gauss feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Gauss gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Gauss tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hill paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gauss looks to land a combination but Hill avoids it well.
Hill is looking to counter the offense by Gauss and move into the clinch.
Some wild striking there from Gauss.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gauss misses with a looping right.
Gauss avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gauss tries to land a leg kick but Hill saw it coming and moves away.
Hill throws a counter high kick but Gauss was just alert enough to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Declan Gauss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hill's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Hill will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gauss throws a counter combo.

Gauss lands a jab-cross combination.

Gauss fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hill to the ground. Gauss is now in Hill's guard.
Hill looking to control.

Gauss gets to his feet. Hill looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
A punch combination from Gauss misses.
Some bone on bone action there as Hill checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Hill shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gauss sprawls well. Gauss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hill gets slowly back to his feet.

Gauss lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hill or perhaps it was just good defense by Gauss, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clint Hill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hill is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gauss rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hill moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hill is looking to counter the offense by Gauss and move into the clinch.

Gauss punishes Hill's body with a nice straight punch.
Declan Gauss seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Gauss feints and as Hill raises his hands in defense, Gauss changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hill shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gauss defends it nicely.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hill tries to clinch up.
Hill throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hill throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Gauss misses with the combination.
Gauss scores with a jab. Hill acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Hill misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hill moves to clinch but Gauss breaks away
and Gauss counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Gauss closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hill quickly recovers to half guard.
Hill trying to control but Gauss postures up.
Gauss trying to control the pace.
Declan Gauss has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hill is not content to let Gauss control the position.
Declan Gauss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Gauss perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gauss is thwarting Hill's attempts to control the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Declan Gauss seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gauss tries to bum rush Hill with a series of wild strikes but Hill uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Declan Gauss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gauss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
