The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shovkovskyj darts in and clinches Ferrall up against the cage.
Ferrall is trying to drag Shovkovskyj to the mat but Shovkovskyj just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ferrall has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shovkovskyj after a bit of a struggle.
Ferrall wants a takedown.
Valentin Shovkovskyj has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilson Ferrall.
Shovkovskyj has hold of one of Ferrall's legs. Ferrall is fighting the takedown attempt but Shovkovskyj gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ferrall is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Shovkovskyj dives into side control.

Shovkovskyj escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ferrall gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ferrall stays in close to Shovkovskyj's body and controls the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ferrall looking to sit in guard and control but Shovkovskyj gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ferrall pulls Shovkovskyj in close to his closed guard and prevents Shovkovskyj from doing any damage or advancing position.

Shovkovskyj is sitting in close to Ferrall's body. Ferrall has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shovkovskyj is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shovkovskyj is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ferrall.
