Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sawyer Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Neely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neely has chosen Cracker - Low as his entrance music. Jack Neely has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sawyer Hume!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Neely!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neely throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hume's waist but Hume gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Neely off to one side.
We've been informed that Neely has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Neely blocks the body kick.
Hume throws the kick towards the body but Neely avoids it.
Neely feints the counter takedown.
Hume misses with the body kick

and Neely counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hume won't be happy with that.
Hume tries to bench press Neely off him but Neely keeps the position.
Neely wants to control for a moment but Hume uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Neely not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Neely thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neely scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Neely lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Neely thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hume's head.
Neely thows a huge punch but Hume dodges it nicely.
Neely tries to pass to full mount but Hume defends it.

Neely trying to control the action but Hume is working from the bottom.

Neely thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neely seems to be looking for submissions.

Neely throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Neely wants to work for an arm triangle but Hume is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hume regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Neely.
Neely postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Neely loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Neely scores with a kick to the midsection.
Neely lands with a right hand.
Hume takes a swing at Neely's ribcage but misses.

Hume moves into the clinch.
Neely tries to work over Hume's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Neely lands a takedown into guard.
Hume looking to hit a scissor sweep but Neely is one step ahead there.
Hume keeping full guard, as Neely tries to pass.
Neely missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hume trying to keep a closed guard but Neely is proving a slippery customer.
Neely landing some decent shots from guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hume has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hume wants to sweep but no luck.
Neely cracks Hume with a solid left hand.
Neely throws an elbow that misses. Hume uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Neely's guard. Nice move by Hume!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neely has his foot on Hume's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hume works his way back into a safe position though.

Neely has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hume can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neely is looking for a triangle but Hume pushes his legs off easily.
Hume has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neely looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neely has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hume can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Neely looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hume lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Hume throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Jack Neely has been cut.
Hume misses with a low kick.
Neely throws a head kick that misses.
Neely takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hume digs a good hook to Neely's body.
Hume tries a head kick but it misses.
Neely lands a nice shot that snaps Hume's head back.
Neely swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Neely goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hume blocks the body kick.
Hume throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Neely swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Hume counters with a nice low kick that buckles Neely's knee momentarily.
Neely takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hume looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Neely follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Neely is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hume throws a nice inside leg kick.
Neely has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Neely throws the kick towards the body but Hume avoids it.
Neely takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Neely tries to move into range but Hume moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Hume with a jab.


That has opened up Jack Neely's cut even more.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hume.
Neely shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Jack Neely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hume getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Hume throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Neely looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hume sends Neely crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Hume is motioning to the referee to let Neely up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


The cut above Jack Neely's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hume thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Neely if he has to take too many more of those.
Hume keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Neely tries a body shot but Hume blocks it.
Neely swings wildly with an uppercut but Hume uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hume lands a shot to the body.
Hume leaning against his opponent.
Neely can't find room to land a body shot as Hume controls the action.
Hume lands with a short shot to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Hume.


Jack Neely's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jack Neely's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Sawyer Hume!
Jack Neely spoke after the fight, saying 'Shame my mug's looking like Gerry Cheevers face mask, have to start considering sparring duties before calling it a day.'.
