Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fredric Brannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomasz Kowalski will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredric Brannon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomasz Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Brannon misses.

Kowalski forces Brannon back against the cage and clinches.
Brannon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kowalski is defending well.
Kowalski misses with a hook to the ribs.

Kowalski has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Brannon uses from the top position.

A nice left hand lands by Brannon.
Brannon lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kowalski backwards.

Brannon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Brannon gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kowalski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As Kowalski looks to move away, Brannon throws a big counter combo bu Kowalski just gets out of the way.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kowalski throws a body shot but no joy.
Brannon connects with a looping right hand.
Kowalski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Brannon counters with a stiff right hand.
Brannon dodges the punch combination from Kowalski.
Kowalski throws a leg kick that is checked
enabling Brannon to counter with a crisp jab.

Kowalski lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kowalski shoots for a double leg takedown but Brannon sprawls well. He's pushed Kowalski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fredric Brannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Kowalski.

and Brannon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Brannon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Brannon postures up in Kowalski's guard and throws a big left but Kowalski blocks it.

Kowalski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brannon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brannon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kowalski is looking to control Brannon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kowalski avoid being mounted?
Brannon wants to control but Kowalski is keeping him busy.
Brannon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Brannon tries to pass to full mount but Kowalski defends it.

Brannon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kowalski has managed to free his arm - good work.

Brannon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Kowalski walks into a straight right hand from Brannon.

Kowalski moves into range and clinches up with Brannon.
Brannon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kowalski gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Brannon is looking to take this one to the mat.
Brannon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kowalski is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brannon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kowalski is trying to control the position but Brannon postures up.
Kowalski wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Brannon is now in half guard.
Brannon wants to stand up but Kowalski has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Brannon is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kowalski defends it well.

Kowalski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brannon is aware though and is defending well.

Brannon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kowalski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brannon, into his guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Kowalski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brannon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kowalski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Kowalski 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kowalski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Brannon.
It looked like Brannon wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kowalski is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kowalski lands with a nice body punch.
Kowalski tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Brannon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kowalski's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Kowalski wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Brannon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brannon checks the leg kick nicely there.

Brannon has closed the distance and engaged Kowalski in a clinch.
Brannon is pressed up against the cage. Kowalski has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Brannon down to the mat. Brannon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Brannon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Brannon is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kowalski misses with a kick to the body
and Brannon counters with a two punch combo.
Kowalski takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Tomasz Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brannon instigates a clinch.
Kowalski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kowalski seems to have recovered his senses.

Kowalski changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brannon fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Kowalski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brannon controls the pace.

Brannon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

and Brannon counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kowalski dives in and grabs Brannon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brannon pushes down on Kowalski's head and hops out.
Kowalski takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brannon scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Kowalski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kowalski changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Brannon clobbers Kowalski with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Some wild striking there from Kowalski.

Brannon's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Brannon duly obliges.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Brannon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kowalski is trying to defend but Brannon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Brannon is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Brannon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kowalski knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tomasz Kowalski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Brannon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
