Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dony jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Hock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, dony jaa!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jaa checks a low kick from Hock.
Hock tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but jaa swivels and escapes.
Mike Hock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hock instigates a clinch.

Hock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hock closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming jaa to the mat! jaa manages to get full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

jaa shoots for a double leg takedown but Hock sprawls well. He's pushed jaa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hock throws a nice looking combination but jaa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Hock closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
jaa is not content to let Hock control the position.
Hock with the ground and pound but jaa regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
jaa is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Hock looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hock seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but jaa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hock is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
jaa is trying to escape back to his feet but Hock uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Hock controls the position from side control.
jaa is looking to reverse the position.
jaa is letting Hock control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
jaa is looking for a sweep.

Hock decides to stand up, so the ref orders jaa to his feet.

Hock closes the distance and clinches.

Hock manages to break the clinch.
jaa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hock's waist but Hock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing jaa off to one side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
jaa shoots in looking for a takedown. Hock tries to sprawl out of it but jaa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mike Hock has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of dony jaa.

Hock drives through and clinches with jaa against the cage.
Hock wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Hock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hock managing to block the knees to the body from jaa.

Hock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hock moves in looking to clinch but jaa pushes him off.

jaa tries to clinch up.

jaa is pressed up against the cage. Hock has hold of a leg and is looking to drag jaa down to the mat. jaa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. jaa tries to avoid it but Hock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag jaa to the ground. jaa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Hock. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hock lands a body punch in the clinch.
Hock has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. jaa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Hock is trying to break the clinch but jaa has him pressed against the cage.
Hock wants to get back to striking at distance but jaa won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mike Hock is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
