PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sami Orgun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown has chosen Many Men by 50 Cent as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sami Orgun could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chris Brown's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Sami Orgun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Brown!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a head kick but Orgun moves out of range.
Orgun lands a high kick!


It looks like Chris Brown has been cut.
Orgun throws a leg kick
and Brown counters with a straight right hand.
Brown moves out of range of the body kick from Orgun.
Orgun pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Orgun just misses with a punch to the body.
Orgun throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Orgun comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Brown defending well as Orgun loads up on a big left hand.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Brown! But no joy.
Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
Orgun tries to score with a low kick but Brown moves his leg out of the way.

Orgun closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard.

Brown pushes Orgun off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Orgun.

A nice leg kick lands there from Orgun.
Orgun definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Orgun swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Brown.
Sami Orgun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Orgun circles away.
A bone on bone clash there as Brown blocks the leg kick.
Orgun tries a head kick but it misses.
Brown is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Brown has Orgun up against the cage in a clinch.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Orgun obliges.

Brown pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chris Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Orgun is looking to chop away at Brown's legs.
Brown now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Orgun shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Brown counters with a left and a right that stings Orgun.
Brown goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Orgun throws a low kick but it's checked well by Brown.
Brown throws a fast counter high kick but Orgun manages to duck under it in time.
The crowd cheers as Orgun lands an impressive looking overhand right. Brown doesn't seem phased though.

Orgun shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brown manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Brown told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Orgun passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Orgun landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
I wouldn't like to be where Brown is right now.
Orgun throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Brown is trying to escape the position but Orgun is controlling the position.
Orgun wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy.
Orgun advances nicely into full mount.
Brown wants to control but Orgun is having none of it.
Orgun looking to control and managing it successfully.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Orgun. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Orgun tries to control but Brown wriggling away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Orgun pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Brown wants to hold on but Orgun pushes him away.
Orgun looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Orgun looking to finish Brown with some ground and pound. This is bad for Brown!

Brown is rocked!

Orgun is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brown shrugs it off.
Brown squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Brown is squirming around, avoiding Orgun's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sami Orgun dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chris Brown's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Orgun cracks the inside of Brown's front leg.

Orgun looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Sami Orgun overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Orgun prevents Brown from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Orgun trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Orgun passes Brown's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Orgun is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Orgun has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Brown wants to improve his position but Orgun is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Orgun thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Orgun wants to pass the guard but Brown is defending well.

Brown is not content to let Orgun control the position.

Orgun is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Orgun connects with a nice short shot to Brown's temple.
Brown is still in real trouble! Can Orgun finish him?
Orgun scores with a couple of good hammerfists.


That has opened up Chris Brown's cut even more.
Brown is in trouble now - Orgun has advanced to mount!
Orgun postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Brown out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Orgun goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Sami Orgun!
After winning the bout, Sami Orgun thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Chris Brown stepped up to the mic, saying 'Tonight was not my night, but i can promise all these great fans that I will be back and i will be better'.
