Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Pastrnak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Pastrnak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Torres!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Torres.
A telegraphed right hand from Pastrnak misses the target.
Pastrnak throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Torres counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pastrnak won't be happy with that.

Torres goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pastrnak has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Torres but great work by Pastrnak.

Pastrnak is trying to get an arm triangle but Torres is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pastrnak content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pastrnak prevents Torres from getting the reversal.
Torres is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Torres is squirming around, avoiding Pastrnak's attempts to control the action.

Torres is bucking up trying to escape but Pastrnak cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Torres really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pastrnak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Torres keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pastrnak fails to take his opponent's back.
Pastrnak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pastrnak scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Torres?

Torres has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Torres takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Pastrnak is working for a guillotine from mount but Torres frees his head quite easily.

Torres is squirming around, avoiding Pastrnak's attempts to control the action.

Pastrnak is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Torres to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Torres shrugs it off.

Pastrnak has control of Torres's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Torres regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Torres can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pastrnak is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Torres has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Torres is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Pastrnak throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Torres blocking the ground and pound.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pastrnak throws some wild stikes that Torres manages to avoid easily.

Pastrnak is landing with some decent strikes but Torres is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Pastrnak dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Torres slips a jab from Pastrnak.
David Pastrnak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pastrnak misses the jab.

Torres feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
David Pastrnak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pastrnak is looking for a triangle but Torres pushes his legs off easily.
Torres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pastrnak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Torres sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Torres trying to control but Pastrnak is working from the bottom.

Torres pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pastrnak is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pastrnak is looking for a triangle but Torres pushes his legs off easily.

Pastrnak has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Torres doesn't defend quickly enough and Pastrnak has managed to lock this one up! Can Torres escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pastrnak on a fantastic submission victory.
