Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Royce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wedus Gembel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wedus Gembel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

We've been hearing good reports from Royce's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Royce looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gembel with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gembel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Royce is working away from the top position though.

Royce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Royce has Gembel pressed against the cage, preventing Gembel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gembel dives in for a single leg takedown but Royce sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gembel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Royce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
