The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willgren tests Monzon's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Monzon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Willgren avoids it really well and circles away.
Monzon has a takedown stuffed.
Monzon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Willgren throws out the jab.
Monzon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Willgren pinned against the cage. Willgren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Willgren is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Monzon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Willgren clobbers Monzon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Willgren gets a clinch.
Willgren lands a left hand that snaps the head of Monzon backwards.
Monzon tries to pull guard but Willgren holds him up against the cage and eventually Monzon drops back down to his feet.

Monzon misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Willgren.

Monzon blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

A short body shot lands from Willgren as the two fighters clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Willgren - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Willgren lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Willgren digs a right hand into Monzon's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Monzon's gas tank.
Monzon is breathing heavily.

Willgren lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Oh Monzon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Willgren lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Willgren digs a right hand underneath Monzon's ribcage. Monzon let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Willgren is working Monzon over against the cage.
Willgren lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Willgren lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Willgren drops Monzon onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Monzon is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Willgren creates a bit of distance and cracks Monzon with a massive left hook! Monzon crumples out of camera shot, completely unconscious! He's been Nelmarked! Willgren stares at him for a moment then struts over to his corner, victorious.
