PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Stall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Akbar might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to New Slaves. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hunter Akbar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Stall!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stall swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Akbar shoots for a takedown but Stall saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Akbar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stall.
Stall misses with an uppercut. Akbar saw that one coming.
Stall throws a hook but Akbar blocks it.
Akbar seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Akbar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stall tries a body shot but Akbar blocks it.
Stall goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Akbar wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stall has him pressed against the cage.
Stall creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Akbar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akbar jumps guard but Stall stands there with Akbar around his waist. Akbar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Akbar is trying to drag Stall to the mat but Stall just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Stall just misses with a elbow thrown towards Akbar's brow.

Stall lands an elbow that stopped Akbar in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Hunter Akbar has been cut.
Stall lands an elbow inside that Akbar shrugs off.
Akbar lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Stall backwards.
Stall tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Stall stops a takedown attempt from Akbar.
Akbar wants to take the fight to the mat but Stall manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Stall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stall throws a lazy right hand but Akbar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Akbar tries to clinch up but Stall circles away and keeps his distance.
Akbar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stall sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akbar somewhat.

Stall has closed the distance and engaged Akbar in a clinch.

Akbar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stall lands a right hook to the body.
Dan Stall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That kick from Stall tenderised Akbar's leg. Akbar is trying to keep his angry face on.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stall tries to bum rush Akbar with a series of wild strikes but Akbar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Stall lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Stall throws a lazy right hand but Akbar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akbar manages to avoid it.
Stall swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Akbar blocks the body kick.
Akbar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Stall works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Stall fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Akbar, pushing him back against the cage.

Stall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stall stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Stall closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Stall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stall throws a lazy right hand but Akbar sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stall misses with a low kick.
Akbar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stall defends it nicely.

Akbar gets tackled into the cage by Stall. Stall maintains the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Stall stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Stall goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A right hook to the body lands for Stall.
Akbar is breathing heavily.
Stall comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Stall tries a body shot but Akbar blocks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Akbar jumps into guard, dragging Stall to the mat.
Stall wants to get up but he can't break Akbar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Stall controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Stall stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Akbar ducks right into an uppercut from Stall.
Stall throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Stall looks to score with a jab to the body but Akbar is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Akbar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Akbar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stall.
Stall misses the jab.

Stall has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Akbar has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Stall is trying to keep an underhook but Akbar manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Stall lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Akbar ducks under a wild hook from Stall.

Akbar half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Stall throws a leg kick but Akbar moved away.
Stall connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Stall looks to land a combination but Akbar avoids it well.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stall creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stall's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Stall duly obliges.
Stall sizes up Akbar with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Stall pulls Akbar in close to his closed guard and prevents Akbar from doing any damage or advancing position.

Stall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Akbar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stall misses with a looping left.
Stall lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Stall's jab looks to have found its range, popping Akbar under the eye.

Stall seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Akbar is one step ahead there.
Stall is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stall wants to sweep but no luck.
Hunter Akbar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Akbar's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dan Stall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Stall winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
