Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cuneyt Arkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Birdman Lugz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cuneyt Arkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 65 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birdman Lugz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugz moves to clinch but Arkin breaks away

and Arkin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lugz!
Arkin throws an elbow but Lugz slips to the side and avoids it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arkin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lugz some visible discomfort.
Arkin wants to control but Lugz is keeping him busy.
Lugz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Arkin.
Arkin scores with a couple of short elbows.
Arkin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Arkin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Lugz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lugz dodges the ground and pound from Arkin.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lugz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Arkin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Arkin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lugz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Arkin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Arkin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Arkin wants to control from the top but Lugz keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lugz tries to close the distance and clinch but Arkin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Birdman Lugz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Arkin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lugz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jab, jab by Lugz - just one landing.

Arkin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Arkin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lugz tries to hold on but Arkin postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Arkin cracks Lugz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cuneyt Arkin dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Lugz darts in looking for a takedown but Arkin gets double underhooks and turns Lugz into the cage.

so Arkin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Arkin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Arkin is in close to Lugz's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Arkin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Arkin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lugz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Arkin tries to score with some ground and pound. Lugz controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Lugz parries the strikes from Arkin easily there. Arkin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lugz to escape.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lugz doesn't manage to clinch there - Arkin circles away.
Lugz connects with a crisp jab.
Lugz cracks Arkin with a hook to the temple - Arkin is on wobbly legs here! Lugz swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Arkin falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Lugz wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Birdman Lugz!
